Spring Clear-up

Seven volunteers and trustees spent a sunny early April morning clearing up around the building.

  • The daffodils we planted in October 2017 are better this year than last.
  • Before we started.
  • Cobbles and bricks cleared and swept (Thanks Louisa!)
  • Front section next to the path cleared and looking much tidier.
  • Three to four inches of leaf-mold dug through to expose the cobbles again.
  • Back steps and terrace looking better.
  • This was about two thirds of the bags we filled, as the first load had already been taken away.

Cleaning the signboard

Here are some close-ups of the signboard. It is not the original pub board, and not even very old, as it is constucted of modern timber (might even be MDF). So this is a recent replacement of the old sign. Nevertheless it is painted very nicely.
